Today while having my coffee early morning and scrolling through the web I came across the word Matcha flooding everywhere. So, an idea strike why not to know a bit more about this beverage and to know what does Matcha taste like? Let’s hop on this write-up and get to know about this superfood, its taste and benefits.

What is Matcha?

Matcha! A Japanese delicacy with a striking green color and strong flavor. Its genes are from green tea family. But, it is more superior than the green tea. Consider it as a superfood!

Matcha, originating from Japan and deeply rooted in tradition, offers a nuanced and unforgettable taste experience.

What Does Match Taste Like?

So uptil here we know what is Matcha. But how does it taste like…let’s get to know it! Matcha’s flavor profile is its umami, a savory and slightly sweet undertone that sets it apart. This unique essence is cultivated through a curated process of shading the tea plants, encouraging the growth of amino acids, particularly L-threonine. Therefore, the result is a cup of tea in green color that dances on the palate with a velvety richness, captivating the taste buds with every sip.

However, expect taste with earthy, grassy and a creamy texture. Also, note that the taste totally depends on the quality of the Matcha and how carefully you have prepared it.

How to Make This Green Elixir?

All you need is 1-2 teaspoon of Matcha powder alongside 240ml of water for one cup of Matcha. Firstly, sift your Matcha in a cup to avoid any clumps. Also, pour in the hot water, preferably not boiling. Whisk or stir it until the water and Matcha are well combined and a frothy layer is formed at the top. To make it sweet, add honey or sugar. In my opinion, ditch both and thank me later.

I hope I have made you all to get a knowhow of Matcha’s taste i.e. a fusion of umami, earthiness, sweetness, and a touch of bitterness. Whether enjoyed in the calmness of a chaotic day, try Matcha and delve into the raw nature. Stay tune on this dossier for more flavors!
